New ZealandのElim Christian Collegeから生徒11名が12月3日(火)から5日(木)の3日間、本校に国際交流の為滞在します。昨日は和室でオリエンテーションを実施しました。本日は英語の授業・ホームルームへの参加、ライブラリー訪問などに取り組みます。
Students from Elim Christian College in New Zealand will experience an international exchange from 3rd December to 5th December at Suito Jr. High. They had an orientation in our Japanese tatami room yesterday and today, they will join an English and Homeroom class, while also visiting the library etc.

科学者になるために大切なことは、観察ができるようになることです。化学の醍醐味である、化学反応の観察をしました。新しい英語の用語を使いながら、化学反応を五感で感じる実験に取り組みました。生徒達は実験スキルを発揮し、ガスバーナーで火をつけ、秤とメスシリンダーで物質の正確な量を図り、有害廃棄物を安全に処分しました。生徒の皆さんの協力のおかげで、実験は大成功でした！
An important aspect of being a Scientist is being able to make observations. Students had the opportunity to observe what Chemistry is all about: chemical reactions! They were encouraged to use new English terminology and to engage with the experiments using all their senses. Students showed their lab skills as well by lighting Bunsen burners, measuring exact amounts of substances using scales and graduated cylinders and safely disposing of hazardous waste. Of course, with the help of a student, we ended this lesson with a big bang!
